The mat (model g5619) is good quality. I've owned it for about 6 months now. I use it every other day and it is still working well. The one caveat I have found is that it is not compatible with the diagonal arrows at the end of Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 3.

Pros:
Great battery life (6 months on the first set and still going)
Thick dance surface (you can feel where the "buttons" are without looking)
Good build quality feels good (I wonder if the zipper problem is from people with the old model, g5617? Wii & GameCube Wireless Dance Mat)
Dense foam pad (makes dancing on a hard floor safer and more fun)
Good sensitivity (no timing problems, accurately registers steps)
Wireless

Cons:
Not fully compatible with DDR3 (the mat was released before the game)
Not carefully packed. (My mat had a crease in the fabric that stepping on is turning into a small cut in mat)

I'm a late 40's kind of heavy guy. I love the DDR3 and getting to really build up a sweat with no boredom or humiliation. You'd never catch me at some aerobics class but this 'rhythmic' motion it addictive. I find myself hopping out of bed at 6:30 to work out and am sad when at 7:30 I have to stop and hit
the showers to make my train.

This dance mat is much easier than the other one we have and I can move it around. The foam is kind of raised so you can easily make sure you don't 'fall off' the mat. It is sensitive enough you don't feel you have to stomp it to have it register.

Other reviews complain about the zip, you just have to slightly bend / fold the mat while zipping it.

Batteries seem to last a long time.

Mine came with two 'receivers'. I was confused but just plugging in one seemed to work fine. I Dont know what the other was for.

It automatically turns off after a couple of min of non use, and you have to switch it off and back on with a fairly small switch. They have this giant connect button on the front that would have been better as a ON / reset switch.

Very happy with this mat, and the Dance Dance Revolution 3 game.

Everything worked great and you can use the pad to select songs, scroll through menu's, etc. HOWEVER: IF the mat/pad appears to disable itself as soon as the dancing starts, try plugging the pad into a different port (3 ot 4)! This should be a BIG sticker with that info on the box. The instructions are pretty lacking.. -- PLUG IT INTO PORT3 or PORT4!
