User Reviews about PSP Component AV Cable
It will put the image up on the screen, but you have to go into the menu settings first and manually change it to make it work. It doesn't just sense the connection and put it up on the TV. If you accidentally unplug it. You have to go back into the menu and initiate the TV output setting again. -- Works just fine, but too much effort
It works and all, but there's no reason to have it unless you want to play video files from a PSP on a TV, which you probably already have other ways of doing. And even those look pretty blurry. There's no possible way to get games to look acceptable through it. PSP games don't run at a 16:9 aspect ration natively. It's some warped ratio, and the PSP adjusts it to fit the 16:9 screen correctly. For some reason it doesn't do this with TV-out. It presents at half the size of your screen, and in the completely warped native aspect ratio. There's really no benefit in connecting the PSP to a TV unless improved color/contrast/size is more important to you than the lack of warped/pixely/shrunken image quality. There's really almost no reason to buy this. Maybe PSone classics are displayed correctly through it, but I couldn't tell ya because haven't tried that out. I have a PS3 for that. Also, the cable is pretty short. Using it on larger TVs that you sit pretty far away from doesn't exactly work. -- Almost Pointless
I just recieved this item today and I was really happy that I could finally play my PsP on my TV... Untill I noticed there was no video cord.
I'm sure this is mentioned before, but if you only have the normal YELLOW/RED/WHITE hookup, this item isn't worth the buy unless you already plan on getting a wide screen LCD/High Definition TV in the future. Best one to use for normal TV sets is the COMPOSITE cable, not the COMPONIENT one. -- Good if you got the right items...
This cable is has worked well with my setup. The cable length is approx 8 ft. I am viewing on a 55" Mitsubishi HD and progressive settings. I get a horizontal rectangle in the middle of the screen with approx 4" of black on all sides. I am using a NXG female to female coupler and a 25' component cable in conjunction to the PSP cable and have yet to see any signal loss. I anticipate that watching movies with this setup will be good in quality. The audio transfers well and sounds good through the TV speakers. I would suggest this to anyone who, like me, has a son wanting to play at home with a larger screen size. I noticed that the packaging says" PSP 2000 Only". I have the 3000 PSP model and have had no issues. -- PSP to TV component cable
